BIOGRAPHY

Darius “Jet” Anderson was born on September 10, 1997, and entered the world of American football as a professional running back. Despite reaching professional status, Anderson currently remains a free agent. His early career took off in college where he played for the TCU Horned Frogs, a significant stepping stone for his later career in professional football.

Anderson spent his formative years at George Ranch High School, where his talent for football first surfaced. Even as a high school junior, he demonstrated his exceptional prowess on the field, earning himself the District 24-5A Offensive MVP honor. Moving into his senior year, Anderson cemented his name in the football landscape, propelling his team to secure a 16-0 season win. This achievement was further emphasized when his high school team clinched the 5A Division I State Championship.

During his high school years, Anderson’s stats were impressive, recording 2,274 rushing yards at an average of 8.7 yards, 30 rushing touchdowns, and making 13 receptions with 2 receiving touchdowns. His performance earned him the prestigious Houston Chronicle Offensive Player of the Year award. He also took home the State Championship game MVP honors after rushing for 246 yards. These accolades were just beginning for Anderson.

As a highly sought-after three-star recruit upon graduating high school, Anderson was courted by some of the most prestigious colleges in the nation. Alabama, Texas, and Texas A&M offered him spots, but he chose Texas Christian University (TCU), where he accepted a football scholarship. As a freshman, he participated in 11 games, managing 27 carries, a total of 229 yards, and scoring an impressive 8.5-yard average.

Anderson’s sophomore year was significant, marking his evolution as a player. He played 11 games, initiating 3 starts, and took over as the team’s lead running back, racking up 128 carries, 768 yards, and 8 rushing touchdowns. Despite sustaining an injury in the 10th game against the University of Oklahoma, Anderson remained on pace for a solid 1,000 rushing yard season.

Anderson’s junior year was marred by an injury that forced him out of the last two games of the season. Despite this setback, he finished as the team’s second-best player, with 124 carries for 598 yards. His senior year saw him become a team leader, amassing 823 yards and six rushing touchdowns.

After college, Anderson’s journey took a turn to professional football. He went undrafted, but the Dallas Cowboys signed him as a free agent in the 2020 NFL draft. Despite being waived by the Dallas Cowboys shortly after, Anderson kept his career alight and was signed to the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad. He then moved up to the active roster during the team’s week 17 and wild card playoff games, facing off against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills.

Despite these personal achievements, Anderson’s career was not without its legal challenges. In July 2022, Anderson was arrested for burglary with intent to commit assault in Harris County, Texas, but was promptly released on bond. Luckily, the charges were dropped a month later. As he continues his career, Anderson assurance on the field will likely continue to be a crucial part of his future in professional football.
