Nico Collins

Nico Collins is a Houston Texans wide receiver and a current member of the Texans’ 2026 roster. Born on March 19, 1999, in Birmingham, Alabama, he attended Clay-Chalkville High School before joining the University of Michigan. Collins stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and wears number 12 for Houston. His size, acceleration and ability to track the football have made him a prominent downfield receiving threat.

At Michigan, Collins played from 2017 through 2019 and earned three varsity letters. He was named the Wolverines’ Most Improved Offensive Player in 2018 and Offensive Player of the Year in 2019, while also receiving All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition. His college career included a memorable performance at Indiana on November 23, 2019, when he recorded career bests in receiving yards and touchdowns. Michigan described him as an explosive, fluid receiver with exceptional size and strong football awareness.

The Texans selected Collins in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 89th overall pick. After developing early in his professional career, he became a major part of Houston’s passing attack and earned a contract extension officially announced on May 29, 2024. The agreement was reported as a three-year extension worth $72.5 million, with a maximum value of $75 million and $52 million guaranteed. As of September 16, 2026, Collins remains listed as an active Houston Texans player.
