Born August 4, 1997, in Tampa, Florida, Al-Shaair began his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers before playing for the Tennessee Titans. He joined Houston as an unrestricted free agent in 2024 and became a defensive leader for the Texans. His style is built around physical downhill tackling, range in pursuit and vocal leadership in the middle of the defense.
Al-Shaair earned his first Pro Bowl selection after the 2025 season and was recognized by his peers in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2026. On May 1, 2026, the Texans announced a contract extension for him; NFL Network reported that the agreement was a three-year extension. He remains with Houston during the 2026 season.
