Davis Mills is an NFL quarterback currently playing for the Houston Texans. He was drafted with the 67th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Born on May 30, 1999, in Norcross, Georgia, he attended Greater Atlanta Christian School and Highland Park High School.
Mills began his college football career at Stanford University in 2017 as a freshman and became a starter for his sophomore season when he threw for 2,640 yards and 14 touchdowns. His stats improved over the next two seasons as Mills threw for 3,468 yards and 16 touchdowns during his junior year while completing 64 percent of passes. During his senior year he eclipsed 4 thousand passing yards throwing for 4349 with 17 touchdown passes while completing 69% of passes and leading Stanford to their first bowl game since 2017.
In 2021 Davis Mills entered into the draft where he was selected by the Houston Texans with their third-round selection (67th overall). After being selected Mills stated that “I feel really blessed to be chosen by such an amazing organization” showing great excitement to join one of the most storied franchises in NFL history. In late May it was announced that Davis had signed his rookie contract worth just shy of $6 million dollars over four years including a signing bonus around $1 million dollars making him one of the highest compensated picks from this past draft class per reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter Shortly after signing Davis held a press conference where head coach David Culley commented saying “We are excited about what we saw out on film from him at Stanford…He has all skillsets that you look for” giving high praise to one of its newest quarterbacks who could potentially become its franchise QB moving forward given time to develop properly under head coach David Culley’s system..
