Andrei Arlovski Bio
Andrei Arlovski is an MMA legend and one of the most accomplished heavyweights in the sport. He has been fighting professionally since 1999 and has competed in the UFC, Pride Fighting Championships, Strikeforce, and multiple other promotions over his illustrious career. He holds notable wins over some of the greatest fighters to ever grace our sport including Tim Sylvia, Fabricio Werdum, Roy Nelson, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Fedor Emelianenko and Pedro Rizzo.
Born to a family of five in Minsk Belarus on February 4th 1979 Andrei was an athletically gifted child excelling at football from an early age. At 14 he began training Judo followed by Sambo which would lay the foundations for his later success as a fighter. In 1997 aged just 18 he embarked upon his professional fight career competing primarily in regional Russian promotions where he won all but two fights before being noticed by international organizations such as Pride FC who invited him to compete at their events when they were still operating.
Prior to joining PRIDE FC Arlovski had already become European Champion three times taking gold medals at both Sambo tournaments and combat sambo competitions while representing Belarus internationally. It wasn’t until 2001 that he made it into what was then known as the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). After making quick work of Aaron Brink via submission with a neck crank at UFC 28 he quickly earned himself a title shot against Ricco Rodriguez for the vacant Heavyweight belt following Randy Couture’s retirement from active duty back then due to disputes with management about payment issues that resulted in him leaving UFC altogether temporarily . After winning via TKO within 3 rounds Andrei successfully defended his belt twice before suffering defeat against former champion Tim Sylvia also by TKO.
After capturing several titles throughout different organizations such as WSOF , ONE FC , ACB among others Arlovski found himself challenging Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight championship title once more during 2016 however this time ending with defeat after 5 rounds of intense competition . Following this loss Arlovski suffered four additional defeats leading many pundits to question if “The Pitbull” had reached days gone past however recently having won 3 consecutive bouts inside octagon including victory over Ben Rothwell via KO proving many wrong showing us that there is still gas left in tank yet not completely ruling out possibility another run towards heavyweight throne though seemingly unlikely right now given current landscape filled with younger talent hungry contenders ready take mantle any moment now nevertheless long successful career deserves respect admiration fans all around world continue support Belarussin till very end hopefully providing great entertainment along way!
