Waldo Cortes-Acosta Bio
Waldo Cortes-Acosta is an up and coming professional MMA fighter. He has been training in martial arts since he was a young child, starting with Karate and then moving onto Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo. After gaining experience in the different disciplines of martial arts, Waldo decided to try his luck in professional MMA competition. Since making his debut back in 2017, Waldo has quickly established himself as one of the best upcoming fighters on the UFC roster.
He was born on December 16th 1989, growing up in Los Mochis Sinaloa Mexico where he developed a passion for combat sports from an early age thanks to his father who was also involved with various combat sports such as boxing and wrestling which further inspired him to pursue a career within the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). His fighting style is primarily based off Muay Thai & BJJ but also incorporates elements from Wrestling & Boxing too. He’s known for having good technical striking along with strong takedown ability which allows him to control fights effectively both standing up or on ground depending on what type of strategies are employed by opponents during their respective bouts against him.
Although only beginning competitively competing two years ago he has already made some waves within the ranks of The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) due to impressive performances against higher ranked opponents such as Eryk Anders & Andrew Sanchez who were both former top ten ranked middleweights when they faced off against him respectively at unofficial fight nights held outside official UFC cards hosted by another organization called ‘Valor Fights’ – it should be noted that although these fights were not under promotion sanctioned by Diaz Promotions LLC (the parent company responsible for producing major events like The Ultimate Fighter television series), they have still significantly helped boost Waldo’s profile as well providing invaluable experience for growth purposes ahead proper UFC debuts scheduled later this year 2019 onward…
