BIOGRAPHY
Carlos Felipe is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born December 8, 1997 and grew up in Belem do Pará, Brazil. He first developed an interest in martial arts when he was 13 years old and began training in judo. After competing at the state level for several years, Carlos decided to switch his focus to mixed martial arts and began training with renowned Brazilian coach Fabricio Andrade at the age of 18.
Since then, Carlos has quickly risen through the ranks of MMA and has become one of Brazil’s top heavyweights. In 2017 he made his professional debut winning by submission against Rafael Marques de Souza at Future FC 2: Fight Night 2. Since then he has amassed an impressive 7-1 record with six wins via stoppage including four submission wins, two TKO/KOs and one unanimous decision win over previously undefeated fighter Thiago dos Santos Almeida at UFC Fight Night: Magomedsharipov vs Kattar (2021).
In 2019 he entered into The Ultimate Fighter 28: Heavy Hitters but unfortunately lost his opening round fight to fellow Brazilian Antonio Arroyo via split decision. Despite this setback Carlos continued to train hard under coach Fabricio Andrade which paid off as he earned himself a spot on UFC’s roster shortly after being eliminated from The Ultimate Fighter 28 competition where signed a multi-fight contract with the promotion.
As part of UFC’s heavyweight roster Carlos had some great performances such as defeating Don’Tale Mayes by unanimous decision (UFC Fight Night 178), Gadzhimurad Antigulov by first round submission (UFC 254) and most recently Sergey Pavlovich by second round TKO/KO (UFC 257). His only loss came against Sergei Pavlovich via split decision back in 2018 at Fight Nights Global 97 event held in Moscow, Russia but since then Carlos went on win five consecutive fights inside the Octagon showcasing his tremendous skill set both standing up or on the ground earning him “Performance Of The Night” bonus awards for three out these five victories cementing himself as one of Brazilian top prospects within heavyweight division .
