Justin Tafa is a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter currently signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Tafa was born on January 12, 1993 in Auckland, New Zealand. He is of Tongan descent and speaks fluent English and Tongan.

Tafa began his combat sports career training kickboxing and karate at the age of twelve before transitioning to MMA when he was sixteen. After competing in local competitions as an amateur for several years, he made his professional debut in June 2015 against Richard Fa’aoso at Impact FC 2: Rising Stars Fight Night. Tafa won the fight via submission due to strikes in round three.

After compiling a successful record of 3 wins and 1 loss, Tafa joined Australia’s Battlefield Fight League where he quickly rose up its ranks beating Armin Popovic by KO in just 15 seconds of their match-up. This victory earned him a spot on UFC’s first event held in Melbourne Australia against Rashad Coulter which ended with another knockout win for Justin making it 4-1 as a pro MMA fighter overall.

In April 2018 after going 5-2 outside of UFC including winning four fights via stoppage from punches or kicks along with another unanimous decision victory, Justin signed with the promotion officially announcing that he would make his Octagon debut at UFC 225 later that year against Tai Tuivasa where upon losing due to injury retirement late into round twohe still showed what led him joining one if not THE most prestigious organization within this sport worldwide; toughness!

Since then Justin has gone 0-3 recording losses consecutively vs Yorgan de Castro , Carlos Felipe , and most recently Serghei Spivac . Despite being winless since entering the promotionTafta has shown time & time again why you never count him out even when things seem dark; it’s something that makes him stand out amongst many other fighters within the heavyweight division featured by themost prominent league around showcasing Mixed Martial Arts today!

Currently fighting out Team 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu under Eddie Bravo who also coaches former champions such as Tony Ferguson & Fabricio Werdum among others -Justin sees 2020 as his fresh start rejuvenating himself while strengthening all aspects related towards success both inside & outside The Octagon In order to establish himself firmly on this elite stage once more!
