BIOGRAPHY

Shamil Abdurakhimov is a professional mixed martial artist and part of the UFC heavyweight division. He was born in Dagestan, Russia on August 22nd, 1983. He started his career as an amateur in 2005 and went on to turn professional just five years later in 2010. During his amateur career he had four fights, all of which he won by knockout or submission.

Since turning pro, Abdurakhimov has been competing at the highest level of MMA competition around the world and fighting some of the best heavyweights out there including Fabricio Werdum, Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou. As a result, Shamil has amassed an impressive professional record of 20 wins (6 by KO/TKO & 14 by submission) 5 losses and 1 draw over 26 fights throughout his decade-long career so far.

Abdurakhimov made history when he became the first Dagestani fighter to be signed with UFC back in 2014 after competing with promotions such as Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB), WSOF Global Championship (WGCS) among others prior to that signing. Since then he has gone on to have six successful fights within UFC; 3 wins & 3 losses over 6 bouts thus far against some tough opponents like Marcin Tybura and Walt Harris who are both ranked 11th & 10th respectively according to UFC’s official rankings for Heavyweight fighters as well being 8–9th overall when considering all weight classes combined currently . Despite these setbacks though Shamil still stands strong amongst many other noted fighters due to his sheer determination which can be seen through each fight leaving him without any serious injuries despite having fought most often against much bigger men than himself inside the octagon..

Away from MMA competitions Shamil is known for taking part in various Russian Sambo championships throughout Europe where his talent & passion for combat sports has helped him secure multiple gold medals across different categories since 2002 before eventually becoming European champion also during 2006 . In addition ,he also trains local students from time-to-time inspiring them towards becoming better athletes just as himself while also striving hard to continue working towards building up a strong reputation ahead of upcoming tournaments too..

All things considered , one can easily see why Shamil Abdurakhimov is someone worth following closely right now – not only because he’s definitely one talented fighter but more importantly due largely due respect shown by him always towards those around him which itself reflects greatly what type person this man really is..
