Francis Ngannou is a Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist and currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight division. He was born on September 5th, 1986 in Batie, Cameroon and moved to France at the age of 26.
Ngannou began his MMA career in 2013 fighting mostly regional events before signing with the UFC in 2015. During this period he won seven out of eight fights by knockout, one by submission. In 2016 he made his UFC debut against Luis Henrique where he won via TKO due to strikes in just 45 seconds of Round 1. Subsequently followed up with three more wins under two rounds each leading him to be considered as one of the most promising prospects for further success within the promotion.
In 2017, Ngannou earned himself a shot for a title contention fight against Stipe Miocic after winning four consecutive bouts including his win versus Alistair Overeem which earned him Performance Of The Night bonus award from UFC President Dana White . His strong punches and kicks combined with world class cardio helped him reach that level of success so quickly within such a short time span since joining UFC roster . Ngannou is known for having an explosive style full of intimidating power while also possessing great athleticism , flexibility , strength along with excellent defensive skills .

He has been awarded performance bonuses six times out of which five were Knockout Of The Night awards.
