Loopy Godinez Bio

Loopy Godinez is a Mexican-Canadian mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC women’s strawweight division. Born on September 6, 1993, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, she moved with her family to the Vancouver area as a teenager. Godinez later entered an MMA gym with the goal of becoming a professional fighter, building her game around boxing, wrestling and persistent forward pressure.

Godinez turned professional in 2018 and became a champion on the regional circuit before joining the UFC. She captured the BTC women’s strawweight title and then won the LFA strawweight championship against Vanessa Demopoulos in October 2020. The demanding five-round LFA contest helped demonstrate the durability and pace that became hallmarks of her UFC career.

Godinez made her UFC debut against former title challenger Jessica Penne on April 17, 2021. She subsequently became known for accepting frequent assignments and testing herself against established strawweights. By September 21, 2026, the UFC listed her as an active fighter training at WKX/PT Team Vancouver. Her latest documented appearance was an April 11, 2026 bout with Tatiana Suarez at UFC 327. Godinez’s compact boxing, hooks, takedown entries and top-oriented grappling make her an assertive, well-rounded competitor.
