BIOGRAPHY

Emily Ducote is an American professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s women’s strawweight division. Born on March 20, 1991 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana and raised in nearby Hammond, Emily grew up with a strong passion for sports and competitive activities. She began her martial arts journey when she was just 13 years old after being introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by a friend. She quickly realized that she had a unique talent for the sport and decided to pursue it more seriously, competing as an amateur fighter before eventually turning professional at age 18.

In 2010 Emily won her first amateur fight by submission against Allyson Rinehart at the NAGA Championships in Birmingham, AL and from then on she continued to climb the ranks of local promotions throughout Louisiana and Mississippi until 2013 when she made her Bellator MMA debut at Bellator 95 against Felice Herrig. Despite losing via unanimous decision at this event Emily proved that she had what it takes to compete with some of MMA’s top female contenders which earned her another shot at Bellator 102 where this time around she came out victorious over Sarah Schneider winning via guillotine choke submission midway through round one thus making history as being Bellator’s first ever female winner of a fight by submission.

After this victory Emily left Bellator for Invicta FC where she would spend two years competing in five fights between 2014-2016 while also taking part in various other promotions such as Tuff-N-Uff MMA alongside fellow UFC stars Justin Gaethje & Mackenzie Dern amongst others before finally signing with the UFC in May 2018 following Dana White’s Contender Series 15 event where Emily submitted Oroko Etimonu via armbar late into round three earning herself a contract deal from none other than Mr White himself!

Since joining the octagon roster back in 2018 despite only having fought three times (at time of writing) inside its walls due to injury setbacks Emily has managed to pick up wins over both Kate Jackson (via unanimous decision) and Ariane Carnelossi (via triangle choke) while also gaining recognition from fans across the world thanks largely due to her well rounded striking/grappling game plus her infectious personality; something which was further enforced during 2016 when ‘Ducote The Great’ became Oklahoma State University wrestling team captain – cementing herself even further within combat sports folklore!

As we enter 2021 there are no doubts about it that Emily is looking forward towards what looks set be yet another exciting year ahead inside both training camps & octagons alike – showing everyone why they should never underestimate someone who goes all out each night regardless of any setbacks or obstacles standing their way!
