BIOGRAPHY
Jessica Penne is an American mixed martial artist and a former UFC Strawweight Champion. She began her career in 2005, competing in kickboxing and MMA events throughout California before joining the Invicta Fighting Championships. There, she won both the Flyweight Tournament Championship and Atomweight Championship titles.
In 2013, Penne made her UFC debut against highly-touted strawweight contender Randa Markos on The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale card. Despite being an underdog coming into the match, Penne pulled off a split decision victory to make it to the semi-finals of TUF 20 tournament. She eventually finished runner up in that season’s competition but gained recognition from fans due to her impressive performance throughout the tournament. In 2015, she faced Randa Markos again at UFC Fight Night 68 for a title eliminator match for the inaugural Strawweight title belt but unfortunately lost via unanimous decision.
Outside of combat sports Jessica has often been noted as an advocate for women’s rights in sports media and recently became heavily involved with anti-bullying campaigns such as “Stand Up For Kindness” which encourages children not to be bystanders when they see others struggling with bullying or harassment online or at school. She also frequently talks about self-esteem issues amongst young girls on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram where she has amassed over 80K followers combined across all platforms since entering long term partnership deals with brands including Nike, Monster Energy Drink & Fueled by Nature nutrition bars just this past year alone!
Despite having retired from fighting professionally back in 2018 after suffering a shoulder injury during training camp leading up to her next fight – Penne still remains active within MMA circles; regularly appearing as a guest commentator or participating in seminars teaching techniques from Muay Thai Kickboxing & Jiu Jitsu alongside other coaches from various gyms around Southern California today! All together though it is safe to say that Jessica Penne will forever remain one of MMA’s most iconic female fighters who continues inspiring thousands worldwide through her never ending determination regardless whatever obstacles life throws ahead!
