Loma Lookboonmee (née Nampeung) is a Thai mixed martial artist, currently competing in the Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is one of the most successful fighters in her weight class and has become an inspiration to many aspiring female athletes.

Born on July 15th, 1996 in Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand, Loma began training Muay Thai when she was only 5 years old and soon developed a passion for combat sports. By age 11 she had made her professional debut as a Muay Thai fighter and went on to win more than 30 fights before transitioning into MMA in 2017. In her early days as an MMA competitor she trained with Tiger Muay Thai where we won two amateur championships before turning pro just 3 months later with ONE Championship Women’s Atomweight Grand Prix tournament back in 2018.

In 2019 Loma signed with the UFC becoming the second ever Asian-born woman to compete under their banner after Seo Hee Ham good form South Korea). Her debut fight was against Aleksandra Albu at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs Askren which ended up being declared a split draw but not long after that Lookboonmee came out on top against fellow contenders Jinh Yu Frey, Priscila Cachoeira and Sam Hughes by unanimous decision all three times respectively proving that she belonged among some of the best women’s strawweights competitors today.

As well as being known for her incredible skills inside the cage Loma has been praised for helping inspire and empower other women from Thailand who want to pursue careers within combat sports or any profession really which led to her being featured on Forbes Asia’s list of 2020 ’30 Under 30′ recipients alongside UFC stars such as Israel Adesanya & Jorge Masvidal amongst others showing what can be achieved through hard work & determination regardless of gender or race etc…

Outside fighting Lookboonmee also works part-time at The Ring boxing gym whilst attending Chulalongkorn University studying nutrition science and speaks 4 languages: English, French, Japanese and Siamese(Thai). All this goes show what kind of dedicated person Loma truly is & why will no doubt continue achieving great things both inside & outside The Octagon going forward.
