Kennedy Nzechukwu is a UFC fighter in the Light Heavyweight division. He was born and raised in Nigeria, but moved to America when he was 18 years old to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional MMA fighter.
Nzechukwu began training at the age of fourteen, under the tutelage of Muhsin Corbbrey at American Top Team (ATT) Houston, Texas. After graduating from high school, Kennedy continued his development as an amateur MMA athlete before turning pro in 2017.
He quickly made a name for himself with victories over notables such as Caleb Fuller and former Bellator Contender Phil Davis during ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ Season 28 tournament where he earned the title “King of Kings” after going undefeated with three KO/TKOs and one submission victory.
After winning his contract on TUF 28 finale against Sean O’Malley on December 1st 2018, Nzechukwu went on to compete professionally for Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), where he won two fights by unanimous decision before signing with UFC in 2019. His debut fight came against Devin Clark at UFC Fight Night 154, which ended up being declared a draw after taking place over three rounds without any knockouts or submissions occurring within them. Two months later however Kennedy got back into the win column following an impressive first round knockout victory over Darko Stosic at UFC Fight Night 156: Shevchenko vs Carmouche 2 via punches and elbows which earned him Performance Of The Night honors on August 10th 2019.
Following that performance Kennedy has gone on build an impressive 5-1-1 record while competing inside The Octagon beating fighters like Dequan Townsend , Aleksa Camur , Ed Hermann & Willian Knight before suffering his first loss from veteran Jimmy Crute who defeated him via submission(armbar)at UFC 257 – Poirier vs McGregor 2 . Despite this setback Kennedy still looks forward to making more progress climbing up through light heavyweight rankings eventually aiming for a shot at championship gold! Outside of fighting career Nzechukwu is also known for doing motivational speaking events for young people across Texas inspiring them to follow their own dreams no matter what obstacles may stand in their way!
