Danilo Marques

Danilo Marques is a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter from Brazil, currently fights in the Featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He has an extensive background in judo and jiu-jitsu which have translated to impressive results in his MMA career.

Marques began training judo at age five, eventually becoming one of the top athletes in his home country. At 16 he began competing internationally, representing Brazil at multiple world championships. In 2012 Marques became a jiu-jitsu black belt under Leandro Santos and soon after transitioned into MMA competition.

Marques’s first few bouts were on regional cards but by 2015 he had signed with Shooto Brazil where he established himself as one of their top competitors. He went 4–0 in the promotion including a successful defense of the Featherweight title against Alexandre Machado before signing with UFC two years later.
During his UFC tenure Danilo has gone 5–4–1 and won “Performance of The Night” for his submission victory over Giga Chikadze at UFN 172 . His most recent bout was against Arnold Allen which ended controversially via split decision loss giving him three consecutive losses inside octagon .
