BIOGRAPHY
Mike Rodriguez is an American mixed martial artist and kickboxer, who takes part in the UFC Light Heavyweight division. He has also competed for Titan FC, CFFC and Cage Fury Fighting Championships. Born on December 19th 1986 in Boston Massachusetts, Mike was a very promising amateur MMA fighter with a record of 10-1 before transitioning to professional competition.
Rodriguez made his professional MMA debut in 2012, when he fought at WXC: War of The Sexes event against Marcus Simms. He emerged victorious via unanimous decision and this marked the start of a successful career that saw him amass 8 wins out of ten total fights as a pro – including notable victories over James Bochnovic at Bellator 123 and Tim Williams at CFFC 61 respectively.
In 2017 Mike won his first two UFC fights; defeating fellow light heavyweight Devin Clark by knockout then Matt Frevola via submission (armbar). After these successes, he went on to face the likes of John Allan Arte, Gadzhimurad Antigulov and Ed Herman inside the octagon but unfortunately lost all three bouts by submission or technical knockout.
Despite having faced some setbacks during his relatively short MMA career thus far ,Mike has continued to stay focused on reaching greater heights within the sport . With years still ahead of him in terms of age , he’s determined to put himself back into contention for being considered amongst one of the best fighters within his weight class . Already possessing a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu , many feel if Rodriguez can remain consistent then there’s no telling what level heights he could reach eventually .
Today Mike trains under renowned coaches such as Pat Curran and Daniel Gracie – both whom have had plenty experience working with top level fighters throughout their time spent coaching/training individuals around Mixed Martial Arts. His current record stands at 10 wins (5 knockouts & 5 submissions) plus 5 losses (3 Submissions & 2 TKO’s) while competing during events held either by UFC or other major organizations like those previously mentioned . While we’re yet to see how much further ‘Slow Motion’ will end up taking himself within Combat Sports – it seems clear that Rodriguez has already established himself as one competitor not be taken lightly due to his past accomplishments coupled with recent performances proving patience does indeed pay off!
