Paul Craig Bio

Paul Craig is a Scottish mixed martial artist known as “Bearjew,” whose UFC profile lists him in the light heavyweight division. As of September 12, 2026, that profile identifies his status as “Not Fighting,” so he should not be described as an active UFC roster fighter without a newer signing or bout announcement. Craig was born in Airdrie, Scotland, on November 27, 1987. He is listed at 6 feet 3 inches with a 76-inch reach and trains at Higher Level MMA.

A professional since 2013, Craig made his UFC debut on December 18, 2016, and became a prominent submission specialist at light heavyweight. His UFC biography lists a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and credits him with British, European and BAMMA world light heavyweight titles as a professional, along with British and Scottish amateur light heavyweight championships. He later moved to middleweight in 2023 before returning to light heavyweight in 2025. His most recent UFC appearance was against Modestas Bukauskas on September 6, 2025. Craig’s game is built around grappling threats—especially triangles, chokes and opportunistic submissions—while he has also spoken of using wrestling to bring opponents into his jiu-jitsu game.
