BIOGRAPHY

Andre Fili is an American mixed martial artist, who currently competes in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is known for his strong striking ability and exceptional agility inside the octagon. Born and raised in Sacramento, California on June 3rd 1991, Fili started training taekwondo at just four years old and by age 13 he had earned a black belt.

As a high school student he began competing in wrestling tournaments that eventually led to him joining Team Alpha Male where he trained with some of the most successful MMA fighters around. At 18 years old Fili made his professional debut against Jardy Costa which ended up being a loss via submission but it was only enough to make him more determined to succeed as an MMA fighter.

After winning nine out of his next ten fights over two years, Andre signed with Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) were he went on to win three consecutive bouts before being offered a contract from UFC in 2014. Once signed with UFC it didn’t take long for Fili to become one of their top fighters winning six out of eight fights since then including his most recent fight against Myles Jury at UFC Fight Night 137 where he won by unanimous decision becoming one step closer towards title contention within the featherweight division. Outside fighting Andre has been involved in film production making cameo appearances in films such as Mile 22 starring Mark Wahlberg alongside other notable actors like Lauren Cohen and Ronda Rousey

When asked about what drives him daily, Fili commented “I want to be remembered as someone that overcame all odds no matter what situation I was put into or how hard things got I kept going” which reveals something about Andre’s character not just as an athlete but also as someone who cares deeply about staying true to himself throughout all adversity”. Additionally when asked why martial arts is important for children nowadays Filia said “Martial Arts teaches respect discipline humility confidence focus courage teamwork and camaraderie among many other positive qualities kids can learn” showcasing yet another aspect of this well rounded athlete beyond physical prowess alone.
