Lucas Almeida is a Brazilian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on October 18th, 1995 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Almeida began his martial arts training at just 13 years old with jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. After completing high school he decided to pursue MMA full time and started training with the renowned Chute Boxe Academy in Curitiba. This is when his professional career truly began as he had an impressive 4-0 record before joining the UFC.
In 2015, Lucas won The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4 competition after beating Bruno Korea by armbar submission in the tournament finale. His victory resulted in a contract with the UFC and put him on the map of MMA stars to watch out for.
Since then Almeida has fought six times under UFC banner with victories over Renan Barão at UFC 198 and Josh Emmett at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale resulting from a decision victory both times; With losses coming against Brian Ortega at Fight Night 100 and Andre Fili at Fight Night 139 via technical knockout submissions each time; And most recently a draw match against Zabit Magomedsharipov for their five round main event fight night 134 bout that earned him “Fight of The Night” honors .
Throughout his career , Almeida has been known for applying relentless pressure on opponents during fights which makes it difficult for them to find openings or counterattack while also showing great technique when attacking or defending himself against strikes or takedowns attempts alike . As such , this combination of aggression balanced by technique have made him one of few people who can make waves within featherweight division both now and potentially down line as well . Moreover , due to his long history throughout jiu-jitsu competitions prior joining professional fight scene , Lucas often prefers grappling exchanges instead ground striking which allows him utilize various submissions if opportunity arises – something we already saw back during TUF : BR4 competition where he won 1st place after applying devastating armbar onto finalist opponent .
Despite being only 23 years old , Lucas Almeida has shown great potential thus far within mixed martial arts world ; having achieved so much already we can only wonder what heights he will reach next as continues moving forward through sport’s competitive landscape !
