BIOGRAPHY

Neil Magny is an American professional mixed martial artist who has competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship since 2013. He currently competes in the welterweight division and is currently ranked #10 by the UFC.

Magny began his MMA career training at Hoosier Sports Team under Chico Rivas and participating in amateur kickboxing matches, winning all of them. While training with Chico he also participated in Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments, becoming a purple belt under Diego Gamonal Nogueira.

He made his debut as a professional fighter on April 5th, 2011 when he faced Josh Streacker at Freestyle Cage Fights: Unleashed. Magny won that fight via unanimous decision and then went on to win eight more fights before signing with Strikeforce in 2012 where he won two out of three fights before being released from their roster due to financial difficulties within the organization .

In 2013 Magny signed with the UFC after posting a record of 10-1-0 while competing for various regional promotions such as RFA, CFFC, Legacy FC and Fight Hard MMA. He made his promotional debut against Jon Manley at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale where he lost via submission due to an armbar technique displayed by Manley late into round 2 of their fight . Since then Neil has gone on to compete 20 times inside the octagon posting 11 wins 7 losses and 1 draw over that stretch facing some top contenders such as Rory MacDonald , Kelvin Gastelum , former champion Carlos Condit as well as two time title challenger Demian Maia . He also holds victories over notable fighters like Craig White Johny Hendricks Santiago Ponzinibbio Tim Means Li Jingliang Anthony Rocco Martin Max Griffin Anthony Gonzales Vicente Luque And Roger Narvaez among others .

In October 2018 , Neil earned himself “Fight Of The Night” honors after going toe -to – toe against Brazilian prospect Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 137 which ended up being one of his most memorable performances thus far gaining him even more respect amongst fans of Mixed Martial Arts worldwide . Although no championship gold has been achieved yet there’s no doubt that Neil will continue striving towards becoming world champion eventually if given enough opportunities throughout what should be deemed an illustrious career worth remembering when it’s all said done years down line or so many believe anyway !
