Michael Chiesa Bio

Michael Chiesa is a retired American mixed martial artist who competed in the UFC welterweight division under the nickname “Maverick.” Born December 7, 1987, he is listed at 6 feet 1 inch and fought from a southpaw stance. Chiesa developed his career in Spokane, Washington, and became known for a wrestling- and submission-oriented approach.

Chiesa won the lightweight tournament on The Ultimate Fighter: Live in 2012, earning his place on the UFC roster. He later moved permanently to welterweight and established himself as a veteran of the UFC.
