BIOGRAPHY
Merab Dvalishvili is a Georgian mixed martial artist who currently competes in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Born on October 18, 1991 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Merab began training in Judo at age 9 and earned his black belt by 13. He has also trained in wrestling, sambo and jiu-jitsu.
In 2013, Merab decided to switch to MMA and made his pro debut that same year at the Georgia Fight Championship event. After four consecutive wins he signed with Bellator MMA where he competed five times over two years before joining the UFC roster in 2018 with a unanimous decision win over Terrion Ware at UFC Fight Night 129.
Since joining the UFC, Merab has gone 7-3 with four performance bonuses and two fight night bonuses along the way. His impressive resume includes wins over John Dodson, Brad Katona, Ricky Simon and Jimmie Rivera.
Merab Dvalishvili is widely regarded as one of the top fighters in the bantamweight division of the UFC. Ultimately he hopes to become a champion and bring more global attention to his home country of Georgia through his achievements inside the Octagon.
