Ricky Simon is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s bantamweight division. He was born on April 25, 1993 in Canby, Oregon and grew up with a passion for fighting from a young age.
At the age of 16, Simon began training MMA at Team Quest in Portland, Oregon and quickly developed into one of the top prospects in his region. After going undefeated as an amateur fighter he made his professional debut at Rage In The Cage 49 where he won via TKO after just 33 seconds to become their featherweight champion. Over the next two years he built an impressive 8-1 record while competing across multiple promotions such as Gladiator Challenge and West Coast Fighting Championships before making his UFC debut in November 2017 against Merab Dvalishvili.
Simon has been building on this success ever since then with three wins out of four fights under the UFC banner, including two Fight Of The Night performances against Montel Jackson and Rani Yahya respectively. His most recent win came against Brian Kelleher at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs Stephens when he scored a first round rear-naked choke submission despite coming off back-to-back losses to Rob Font and Urijah Faber respectively; proving that his resilience is truly admirable!
Offduty however you’ll find Simon spending time outdoors doing activities such as hiking or skiing; enjoying nature away from all of life’s pressures that come with being a professional athlete like himself! Although not much else is known about him outside of competition Ricky regularly uses social media platforms such as Twitter & Instagram to stay connected with fans who are following his journey closely!
Despite having just 13 professional fights under his belt, it’s clear that Simon has already proven to be one of the best up & coming fighters out there today – earning respected victories over quality opponents have solidified this position even more so as time passes by! With some big opportunities possibly laying ahead for him it will definitely be interesting to see what comes next for ‘The Kanagaroo Kid’ moving forward into 2021 & beyond…
