Adrian Yanez (born June 23, 1996) is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the Bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 184 on February 6, 2021.
Yanez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Churchill High School and graduated in 2014. After high school, he attended Texas State Technical College where he received a degree in Electronics Technology. During college he began training at Southside MMA & Fitness Academy and developed a passion for MMA that would eventually lead to his dream of becoming a professional fighter.
In 2018, Yanez made his amateur debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), winning all three of his fights via first-round stoppage including two TKOsand one submission victory over Ricardo Martinez at LFA 54. Following this impressive start to his career, Yanez signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in 2019 where he won all four of his fights including finishes over Pedro Nobre at PFL 2 and Joe Lowry at PFL 8 during the organization’s regular season events as well as wins over Nate Andrews during their playoff event and Steven Siler during their championship event respectively which earned him $1 million along with being crowned PFL’s inaugural Lightweight champion after defeating Siler by unanimous decision on December 31st 2019.
On March 5th 2020 it was announced that Yanez had signed a multi-fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship to compete within its bantamweight division beginning later that year against Gustavo Lopez who had also recently signed with the promotion from Combate Americas which was then rescheduled for October 11th before ultimately being cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions on international travel preventing Lopez from entering The United States . On February 6th 2021 it was announced that Yanez would finally make his promotional debut against Victor Rodriguez taking place less than two weeks later at UFC Fight Night 184 where he won via TKO just 45 seconds into round 1 earning him Performance Of The Night honors for what will go down as one of the quickest debuts ever seen inside The Octagon .
As evidenced by both recent results & history alike there’s no doubt Adrian “The Problem” Yanez is going places regardless if it be within or outside The Octagon given not only desire but skill set possessed as well making him one of most promising up & coming fighters worth keeping eye out for moving heads across mma world today!
