Vinicius Salvador was born June 10, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Salvador began training in karate and kickboxing at the age of seven, before making his transition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He gained a purple belt under legendary BJJ coach Wallid Ismail.

In 2011, he made his professional MMA debut with Shooto Brasil and went on to compete for various promotions in South America such as Jungle Fight and Bitetti Combat. In 2013, after four years of competing professionally he signed with UFC and made his debut against Hugo Viana at UFC 163. He lost the fight by split decision but later rebounded with wins over fellow fighters Ildemar Alcantara, Elias Silverio and Rashid Magomedov.

Salvador continued to have success inside the octagon when he beat lightweight contender Francisco Trinaldo by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 96 before dropping back-to-back fights against Kevin Lee & Mike Perry respectively. Despite those losses he remained an exciting fighter whose fan base grew rapidly due to his willingness engage in thrilling bouts that often ended up being awarded “Fight Of The Night” honors or bonuses from UFC officials for their intensity or skill level displayed during each battle inside the octagon .

After becoming inactive due to an ankle injury suffered while training jiu-jitsu , Sri Lankan signed a new contract with Bellator MMA earlier this year which will see him make his return later this summer . Looking forward , Salvador hopes that signing with Bellator will be beneficial not only for himself but also help give light onto upcoming talent coming out of Brazil . Throughout all that though one thing is clear : Vinicius Salvador has become one of today’s most recognizable names both inside & outside when it comes delivering exciting action whenever steps into cage & fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next for this incredible athlete .
