CJ Vergara is one of the most promising young athletes in the UFC. He is known for his unique style and skill set, which he has developed over years of hard work and dedication.
CJ was born in Los Angeles, California where he started training at an early age with a focus on wrestling and submission grappling. As a teen, CJ focused more heavily on martial arts such as kickboxing and Muay Thai with the goal of becoming a professional fighter someday. After graduating high school, CJ attended college while simultaneously training in MMA full-time under UFC veteran Eddie Bravo at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu LA academy.
It didn’t take long for CJ to make an impact in the sport as he quickly won multiple amateur tournaments before turning pro in 2013 when he joined Bellator Fighting Championships for their featherweight division. In his first fight, CJ earned himself a first round submission victory against Mike Barrera via rear-naked choke earning him “Submission of The Night” honors from Bellator president Scott Coker who was impressed by CJ’s skillset from that night forward leading to many more victories throughout his time there until eventually making it all the way to compete for their Featherweight title twice unfortunately losing both times but still proving himself as one of top competitors within that weight class resulting also in him being voted into their Hall Of Fame during May 2018 after leaving them with 18 wins and 4 losses overall giving Bellator what they felt were some great memories thanks to CK’s amazing performances inside their cage over those 5 years since 2013 up until 2018 till later joining up with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) organization during 2019 where still today continues working on climbing higher up into their rankings now having 17 wins altogether across both promotions combined along with 6 losses yet without any doubt showing lot potential still left untapped aiming towards become even bigger name combined presence among world’s best martial artists out there!
Outside of fighting, CJ dedicates much of his time helping others learn Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He often teaches classes at local gyms or seminars around California teaching women self defense or simply providing guidance based off his own experiences within this industry trying inspiring others reach further than themselves knowing how much can be accomplished through perseverance willpower attitude surrounded oneself positive individuals striving similar goals while never settling too low always aim higher since sky limit only thing might stop you dreams come true!
