Jonathan “Dragon”Martinez

Jonathan Martinez is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He made his professional debut in 2014 and has since built a career that has seen him become one of the most exciting young fighters in the UFC.

Martinez was born in Los Angeles, California on February 28, 1994. He began wrestling at a young age and developed a passion for the sport. Wrestling enabled him to hone his skills as a fighter and led to him becoming an excellent technical grappler. In high school he continued to wrestle until he graduated and then went on to train for MMA after being encouraged by friends who were already involved with the sport.

He spent time training under renowned instructors such as Fabio Prado at Kings MMA gym, where he learned important skills such as jiu-jitsu, boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing which would later prove crucial to his success inside the cage. After winning several smaller shows during his early career it wasn’t long before Martinez was signed up by Invicta Fighting Championships where he competed for five fights between 2015-2016 before eventually joining UFC’s featherweight division in 2019 following an impressive run of wins including one against former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz at Invicta FC 23: Porto vs Cruz II event held late 2016.

Since joining UFC, Martinez has become known as one of its most exciting prospects due to his aggressive fighting style combined with creative striking abilities which have earned him knockout victories over notable opponents such as Pingyuan Liu at UFN 163 Denver or Frankie Saenz whom Martinez knocked out cold within 8 seconds into their bout at UFN 171: Blaydes vs Larkin show this past March 2020. With these impressive performances it’s clear why Jonathan Martinez is considered not only a great fighter but also an athlete with plenty of potential whose future looks very bright indeed!

Outside of fighting, Jonny loves spending quality family time with wife Danielle along with two dogs they adopted while living together near Santa Ana city closeby Newport Beach CA state The couple got married back 2018 under beautiful skies during sunset ceremony attended by close relatives & friends from both sides confirming their heartfelt love each other regardless whatever odds lie ahead!
