Montel Jackson is an American mixed martial artist who fights in the UFC’s bantamweight class. He was born on January 28, 1995 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended South Division High School. After graduating high school he moved to Florida where he began training at MMA Masters in Miami under the tutelage of renowned coaches Mike Brown and Henri Hooft.

Jackson made his professional MMA debut in November 2015 with a first round knockout victory over William Gomilsek at Island Fights 36: Battle of the Islands 3. With this impressive start to his career, Jackson continued competing on regional shows throughout Florida until signing with LFA (Legacy Fighting Alliance) in 2017. During his two-year stint with LFA, he achieved an impressive record of 8-1 including five finishes and culminating with a win for the inaugural LFA Bantamweight Championship title against former TUF competitor Lenard Terrance at LFA 44:Jackson vs Terrance . This performance caught the attention of UFC President Dana White which led to Jackson being signed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC Fight Night 141: Blaydes vs Ngannou 2 .

Since joining the promotion , Montel has gone 1-2 inside octagon but has shown flashes of brilliance along his journey thus far. At UFC Fight Night 155 : de Randamie vs Shevchenko 2 , Montel put on one helluva show as he fought highly touted prospect Ricky Simon ; showing extreme toughness and heart during their three round war before eventually losing via split decision after 25 minutes of nonstop action that earned both fighters fight night bonuses and was later voted one of best fights from 2019 by ESPN commentator Ariel Helwani . Despite coming up short on scorecards for this particular bout; it proved that Montel definitely belongs amongst elite talent inside octagon & will look to get back into winning ways when action resumes post covid pandemic .

Outside cage , Montel leads an active lifestyle which includes playing basketball & cricket alongside doing various philanthropic work within local community such as working with youth groups or initiatives aimed towards providing healthcare access & education opportunitiesamongst underprivileged sections society . He also takes great pride representing African Americans within sport and always looks forward sharing experiences life lessons during interviews or interactions fans alike whenever opportunity arises..
