Raoni Barcelos

Raoni Barcelos is an accomplished mixed martial artist and bantamweight fighter who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A native of Brazil, Raoni began his martial arts training at just 5 years old. He has trained all around the world, including in Thailand and Japan, where he competed in Muay Thai fights.

Raoni’s professional MMA career began when he joined the Shooto organization in 2010. He quickly rose through the ranks and earned a spot on UFC’s Fight Night card in 2016. Since then, he has become one of the most successful fighters on UFC’s roster with a strong record of victories over top contenders like Patricky Freire, Charles Oliveira and Iuri Alcantara. As of writing this piece, Raoni holds an incredible 19-1 record which includes fourteen wins by either submission or knockout!

Outside of fighting, Raoni is known for being very active within his community. In 2018, he founded ‘Geração de Ouro’—a nonprofit initiative that helps empower underprivileged children living near his hometown Palmares do Sul by providing them with educational opportunities they wouldn’t have access to otherwise. During 2020’s pandemic lockdown period in Brazil as well—he raised money to provide food aid to families affected by COVID-19 restrictions across Rio Grande do Sul state so they wouldn’t go hungry during these tough times. His humanitarian efforts have earned him multiple awards too—like being named ‘Sportsman Of The Year’ at 2019’s Brazilian Sports Awards Ceremony held annually for recognizing excellence among athletes from all walks life!

In 2021 alone; Raoni won both Fight Of The Night & Performance Of The Night honors against Nate Maness at UFC Vegas 18 event following an impressive third-round TKO victory which further solidified his place amongst elites within Bantamweight division! He also recently announced signing new multi-fight deal with promotion beyond what was originally signed back 2016; meaning fans can look forward to seeing him inside octagon more often than not over next couple years down line barring any unforeseen circumstances!
