Chris Gutierrez is a professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the UFC’s Bantamweight division. He is well known for his impressive grappling and submission skills, which have earned him several victories. Born in Santa Ana, California on November 7th 1990, Chris started training at an early age of 12 years old under various martial arts disciplines such as boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His hard work and dedication soon paid off as he started to become victorious in local tournaments and competitions.
In 2016, Chris decided to take his career to the next level by signing with Invicta FC where he went undefeated for three fights before making the jump to UFC in 2019. His debut fight was against Ryan MacDonald at UFC Fight Night 158 where he won via rear-naked choke submission within one minute of Round 3. Since then Chris has gone on to win four out of five bouts including a unanimous decision victory over Vince Morales at UFC Vegas 13 last October 2020.
Outside of MMA competition Chris stays busy with various activities like attending seminars and working out regularly with teammates from Team Oyama gym based in Irvine California where he currently trains full time alongside some top athletes such as Cub Swanson & Rafael Lovato Jr amongst others. He also likes watching movies when not busy with any physical activity or studying combat sports techniques online or through instructional videos/books available on popular digital platforms like YouTube & Amazon Kindle store respectively.
Moreover Gutierrez also loves spending quality time outdoors either fishing or playing basketball whenever possible during weekends away from training/work commitments due it being great stress relief activity according him personally; something that helps clear mind enough so it can rest up prior start another tasking week ahead filled with more learning opportunities both inside world sport itself plus daily life lessons people encounter along way living different kinds lifestyles across globe too!
