BIOGRAPHY

Da’Mon Blackshear is an American mixed martial artist and professional Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter in the lightweight division. He currently holds a record of 5-1, with his most recent fight being a knockout win against Tristan Connelly at UFC Fight Night 173: Smith vs. Teixeira.

Growing up in Southern California, Da’Mon started training in martial arts from a young age, studying karate, boxing and kickboxing for many years before transitioning to MMA in 2017. After only four months of amateur fighting he made his professional debut at Bellator 192: Lima vs MacDonald II with a first round submission win over Sage Mesbergen-Doster. This impressive performance earned him the attention of UFC scouts who signed him to the organization shortly afterward.

Since joining the UFC in 2018, Da’Mon has become well known for his aggressive fighting style and skillful submissions which have led to several impressive victories including first round finishes over Francisco Trinaldo, Bobby Moffett and Justin Jaynes among others. His only loss came against Marc Diakiese at UFC 231 where he was caught with a powerful right hook that knocked him out cold despite having dominated most of their exchange beforehand. Despite this setback however he has bounced back strongly by winning both of his fights since then-a unanimous decision victory over Christian Aguilera at Fight Night 153 followed by his aforementioned technical knockout victory against Connelly last year .
