Julio Arce is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) Featherweight division. Born on January 1, 1988 in Brooklyn, New York, Arce began his career as a professional fighter when he signed with World Series of Fighting (WSOF) in July 2013.

Arce gained recognition after winning both the WSOF Global Lightweight title and Middleweight title within three months of each other; becoming one of only five fighters to win two titles in different weight classes simultaneously. After defending his lightweight title twice against Luiz Firmino and Alexandre Almeida respectively, Arce was given the opportunity to fight for UFC after WSOF folded its promotion.

Making his UFC debut against Dan Ige at The Ultimate Fighter 25 finale event in July 2017, Arce earned a split decision victory thereby continuing his undefeated streak as a professional fighter; this allowed him to move up the rankings quickly as he faced some difficult opposition such as Sheymon Moraes and Julian Erosa over the following year. By May 2018, Julio had managed to establish himself inside the top 15 rankings of UFC featherweights by defeating Te Edwards via unanimous decision.

In November 2019 Julio faced Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC Moscow but ultimately fell short losing via submission due to a rear naked choke hold from Zabit; this marked Julio’s first loss since February 2016 prompting him to return back into training camp more determined than ever before and with that determination came success too – he followed up with consecutive victories against Hakeem Dawodu and Daniel Teymur which granted him access into number 8 position on official UFC Featherweight Rankings released by ESPN MMA thereby giving him an excellent chance for another crack at top 5 spot if everything goes according to plan during upcoming fights scheduled under banner of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender series where currently sits ranked number 3 overall contender going into 2021 season wherein potential matchup between himself & Calvin Kattar has been speculated by experts & fans alike especially considering their respective resumes inside octagon making it nothing less than featherweight superfight so be sure look out for updates regarding same while keeping tabs on rest upcoming matches involving “The Spaniard”.
