JP Buys is a South African mixed martial artist and competitor in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on April 2, 1990 in Johannesburg, South Africa and began his competitive career as an amateur MMA fighter in 2013.

In 2014 he made his professional debut with a win over Johan van Niekerk by submission at EFC 24: Smit vs. Madge. In 2015 he won his next three fights, all by way of TKO or KO in the first round. It was during this time that Buys earned himself a contract with the UFC.

Buys made his UFC debut against promotional newcomer Joe Soto at UFC Fight Night 77: Belfort vs Henderson III on November 7th, 2015 where he won via unanimous decision after dominating throughout all three rounds of action. This victory was followed up with another win against Kailin Curran at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale which came by way of rear-naked choke submission early into the second round of action.

After losing to Damon Jackson at UFC Fight Night 103 due to an arm injury sustained early into their bout, Buys returned to winning ways with victories over Matt Frevola and Don’Tale Mayes respectively before suffering back-to-back losses against Darrick Minner and Spike Carlyle – both of which resulted from guillotine chokes submissions late into the 1st Round action . Despite these recent setbacks JP continues to work hard towards improving his skillset for future fights ahead as well as motivate other aspiring martial artists who look up to him for guidance .

As an athlete , JP understands that success comes from dedication and consistency so he puts in hours upon hours training each day despite any adversities presented before him . His fitness regime includes running drills , weight lifting , boxing sessions plus more while also keeping a balanced diet catering towards energy sustenance throughout training camps leading up too competition night . Furthermore , even when out competing away from home – JP still finds time too stay connected with family & friends back home due too the video applications provided across various social media platforms such as Instagram & Twitter; this helps provide solace whenever feeling homesick during those long stays outside home country boundaries .

At 30 years young , it’s safe too say that JP has come along way since starting out 5 years ago ; through dedication & commitment coupled alongside perfecting key areas within Mixed Martial Arts based fighting – We can only expect much greatness coming out from such a committed individual like himself once stepping foot inside Octagon cage again soon enough !
