Casey Kenney Bio
Casey Kenney is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on November 30th, 1991 in Seattle, Washington. A lifelong combat sports fan and athlete, he began his MMA career in 2016 and quickly rose to become one of the top fighters in his weight class.
At 5’7” and 135 lbs., Kenney has a distinct size advantage over many of his opponents which gives him an edge when it comes to agility and striking. With strong takedown defense, grappling ability and cardio conditioning, Casey is known for being able to outlast opponents with superior technique rather than relying solely on brute strength or power.
Kenney started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at age 15 under John Crouch at The Compound Training Facility located outside Portland Oregon where he now trains full time. After competing on local circuits throughout Oregon winning multiple amateur titles he made a name for himself as a professional fighter by joining King Of The Cage (KOTC), eventually becoming their Bantamweight Champion before signing with UFC in 2019 after a successful run Bellator MMA.
In just two years with UFC, Kenney has put together an impressive record that includes notable victories over title contenders such as Nathaniel Wood and Ray Borg both found via submission wins during fight nights held earlier this year which earned him two performance bonuses from the organization – Fight Of The Night honors along with Submission Of The Night honors respectively. This streak rocketed Casey up into contention earning him big opportunities such as main event status against former champion Dominick Cruz at UFC 259 where he lost via split decision but still demonstrated what makes him so dangerous even against someone considered one of greatest mma fighters ever .
At 8-2-1 overall in UFC bouts heading into 2021 season ,Kenney will be looking to build upon that success by continuing to win fights showcasing more dynamic striking techniques alongside high level wrestling skillsets enabling fans around world admire skill set contained inside cage . Outside combat sports ,he spends time connecting with family friends all whilst trying fit bit charity work either raising money or simply putting smiles faces those less fortunate .Recently taking part ‘Gathering For Good’ initiative helping provide meals homeless youth while living out dream inside octagon continues mission impact others positively any way possible
