Joaquin Buckley is a professional mixed martial artist (MMA) and current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter. He currently fights in the welterweight division, and began his fighting career in 2016 as an amateur before transitioning to the professional level.
Prior to fighting professionally, Buckley was a standout high school athlete who participated in football, wrestling, track and field. During his senior year of high school he was an All-State selection for both football and wrestling. After graduating from high school he attended Glendale Community College where he continued to excel athletically by setting records in several events related to track & field such as long jump, triple jump, shot put and javelin throw.
Buckley’s introduction into MMA came when he reached out to renowned trainer Jacob Harman on social media after seeing some of Harman’s fighters competing inside the octagon while watching UFC on television one day. Impressed with Buckley’s athletic abilities during their meeting at Harman’s gym shortly afterward, Harman decided that rather than having him compete as an amateur fighter first like most others would do; it would be better for him if he fought professionally right away due to how advanced his technique already was at that time compared everyone else at the gym. Thus complied with this request from Harman which resulted in Buckley making his professional debut fight against Travon Johnson back in 2016 with a unanimous decision victory which earned him “Performance Of The Night” bonus award money from UFC’s President Dana White afterwards even before being signed officially by them later on down the road!
After several successful wins over opponents such as Rico Farrington via split decision victory or Lando Vannata via technical knockout win; Joaquin eventually got formally signed under UFC contract back 2020; since then had no issue having impressive performances inside octagon against noteworthy competitors like Kevin Holland or Impa Kasanganay – whom were stopped convincingly respectively about 3 minutes or 12 seconds into their respective bouts! But what really made people take notice though recently was when faced off against Aliaskhab Khizriev early 2021 – who previously had only lost once prior coming into bout – yet still managed pull off unbelievable spinning heel kick KO finish within just 2nd round earning another “Performance Of The Night” bonus award subsequently also sparked meme frenzy across internet due incredible nature feat itself! In addition staying busy furthering out training repertoire/skillset spending time various gyms around country such American Top Team Florida among many other places too… This has helped Joaquin continue rise up ranks quickly becoming legitimate contender within welterweight division going forward future matcheups look highly anticipated sure please fans world over alike!
