Albert Duraev is a Russian artist and sculptor who has been creating works of art for more than 35 years. He was born in 1957 in Novosibirsk, which is located in Siberia, Russia. Over the course of his career he has created numerous sculptures and paintings that have been showcased in galleries around the world. His artwork typically focuses on themes related to nature and human emotions, such as love, friendship, sadness and joy.
Duraev began his artistic education at an early age by studying under Anatoly Strygachov at the Vilnius Art Institute in Lithuania from 1973 to 1977. After graduating with a degree in painting he moved back to Novosibirsk where he started working as an artist-in-residency at the National Center of Fine Arts until 1985. During this time he also studied under renowned Soviet artists Valentin Alekseevich Yudashkin and Vasily Yakovlevich Kochetkov who had both attended prestigious art academies such as The Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute for Icons Painting Restoration and Monumental Decorative Art School of Moscow State University respectively.
Throughout his career Duraev has created many notable sculptures including “The Enchanted Castle” (1993), which sits outside City Hall building in Saint Petersburg; “Ivan Tsarevich Riding a Bear” (2002) placed on Manezhnaya Square near Kremlin walls; “Guardian Angel” (2007) at Cathedral square near Kazan Kremlin; “Heroic Defenders of Motherland” (2006) installed inside Pechatny Park In front Of Mayakovskaya Metro Station; and most recently “Guardians Of The Planet” sculpture which stands atop The Tower Of Winds Museum In Yaroslavl city center staring over Lake Nero below it .
In addition to these monumental pieces Duraev has also completed several other projects throughout the years ranging from small scale objects like toys or jewelry boxes to larger projects such as decorating bridges or designing Fountains all over Russia . Most notably was when he was selected by President Vladimir Putin himself ,to design bronze busts commemorating significant figures throughout Russian history -such as Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky– information plaques along with them were also added so that passersby could learn about their influence on Russian culture during those times .
Today Albert Durayev continues producing public work installations throughout cities within Russia while teaching sculpture classes at several universities such as Lomonosov University Moscow ,Saint Petersburg State Academy Of Applied sciences And Architecture among others ,demonstrating not only his expertise but passion for inspiring future generations through art making .
