Jun Yong Park is a South Korean-born mixed martial arts fighter who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He won his UFC debut in 2019 when he defeated former lightweight title challenger Justin Gaethje via submission.

Park was born in Seoul, South Korea and began training as a martial artist at an early age. He eventually transitioned to professional MMA competition and went on to compete for many smaller promotions such as M-1 Global and Legend Fighting Championship. In 2017, he won the Performance of the Night bonus for his knockout victory over Oskar Piechota at M-1 Challenge 82.

In 2018, Park signed with UFC but suffered a defeat against Ovince Saint Preux via unanimous decision in his promotional debut fight at UFC Fight Night 136 event. After that loss he bounced back with two consecutive victories – first by beating Alen Amedovski via split decision then submitting Justin Gaethje at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale later that year. His win against Gaethje marked him as one of the rising stars within the promotion’s light heavyweight division and earned him another Performance of the Night award from UFC officials.

Since signing with UFC Junyong Park has been showcasing some impressive performances inside Octagon which have made him one of fans favorite fighters worldwide; especially among Asian audience who recognize his strength and skill set that sets him apart from other competitors within this sport’s international landscape today. According to recent reports, Park will look to take on number 7 ranked contender Dominick Reyes next which could possibly be his biggest challenge yet since entering the octagon back in 2018; if successful it could put him right into contention for an eventual title shot within light heavyweight division further down road!
