Błachowicz became UFC light heavyweight champion at UFC 253 on September 27, 2020, defeating Dominick Reyes for the vacant title. He successfully defended the championship against Israel Adesanya at UFC 259 on March 6, 2021, before losing the belt to Glover Teixeira later that year. His career also includes a majority draw with Magomed Ankalaev in a vacant-title bout at UFC 282 and a 2022 stoppage win over Aleksandar Rakić.
