BIOGRAPHY

Alexander Gustafsson is a Swedish professional Mixed Martial Artist, who currently fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the light heavyweight division. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Alexander was born on January 15th 1987 and is known for his tall stature and impressive reach. He began training in various martial arts when he was eleven years old and has had an impressive career as a professional fighter to date.

Gustafsson made his MMA debut at just 18 years old fighting a local promotion where he quickly earned himself fame with three straight victories over experienced opponents. This success helped him make his way into the UFC where he debuted against Jared Hamman at UFC 105 in November 2009. After ten first round finishes during his initial 12 fight run with the promotion, Alexander finally tasted defeat when he was submitted by Phil Davis at UFC 112 in April 2010 although it would be another two years before Gustafsson would lose again, this time via decision to former champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC on Fox 5 back in December 2012. After some hard fought victories over top contenders such as Jimi Manuwa, Glover Teixeira and Jan Błachowicz among others; Alexander finally got his shot at championship gold against Jon Jones at UFC 165 also taking home Fight of The Night honours after their five round war which many believed that Gustafsson won although official scorer gave Jones the nod due to more effective striking throughout all five rounds.

Despite never earning championship status within MMA circles; Gustafsson has been one ofthe most popular figures throughout Europe due to both his accomplishments inside the cage coupled with an extremely humble down to earth personality outside it making him beloved by fans all across Scandinavia no matter what country they come from… Other fighters have even gone as far as calling Gustavson their hero or idol due to how well respected he is within MMA circles worldwide not only for being an outstanding fighter but also for being an exemplary human being who always puts respect first regardless of whom may be standing across from him either inside or outside of competition situation…

Despite suffering back-to-back losses recently against Anthony Smith & current champion Jon Jones respectively; Alexander remains one half of arguably thee best rivalry inthe sport today between him & Jones having contested two highly entertaining fights already while talks already underway regarding potential trilogy showdown between teo sometime later this year following confirmation that both men are now free agents after ending their respective contracts earlier this month paving way for possibity setting up third instalment war between each man… Ultimately there’s no telling what future holds next for Alexader Gusaftaon but should these predictions become reality then we can expect yet another classic battle which will surely go down history books!
