BIOGRAPHY

Dominick Reyes is an American professional mixed martial artist and former college football player who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Reyes was born on August 12, 1989 in Victorville, California. He graduated from Sweetwater High School in 2007, where he played football as a linebacker and earned all-league honors. After high school, he attended San Diego State University earning a degree in criminal justice.

Originally starting out his MMA career competing for regional promotions such as KOTC and LFA, Reyes amassed an impressive record of 8 wins before making his UFC debut against Joachim Christensen at UFC Fight Night: Bermudez vs Korean Zombie on February 4th 2017. In this fight Dominck quickly proved that he belonged in the UFC with a 1st round TKO victory over his opponent to kickstart his journey towards becoming a top contender within the light heavyweight division of the promotion.

In May 2018 at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs Usman Dominick scored another dominant win over Jared Cannonier via unanimous decision to move up to 6-0 in total fights (all wins) under Zuffa promotions banners – both KOTC/LFA and now the UFC. Following this impressive winning streak Dominick continued picking up big name wins against Ovince Saint Preux by way of unanimous decision at UFC 229 and Volkan Oezdemir via KO/TKO at UFC on ESPN 3 (June 2019), further cementing himself as one of contenders for future contention for title shots within the light heavyweight division should be continue winning matchups like these ones throughout 2020 and beyond.
