BIOGRAPHY

Jon Jones was born in Rochester, New York, in 1987. He grew up surrounded by a strong wrestling tradition and began competing at an early age. His older brothers Arthur and Chandler were also wrestlers, this inspired him to pursue the sport further.

In 2008, Jones made his professional MMA debut as a light heavyweight fighter with the promotion of World Extreme Cage-fighting (WEC). He quickly rose to prominence and made a name for himself as one of the top MMA fighters in the world.

In 2011, Jon Jones joined the UFC and proceeded to dominate the light heavyweight division with a series of impressive wins. During this period, he became the first light heavyweight champion in UFC history and defended his title multiple times.

Jones has now captured second title. He earned the UFC heavyweight title on March 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV defeating Cyril Gane.
