BIOGRAPHY

Khalil Rountree Jr. is an American professional mixed martial artist who currently competes in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on April 1, 1991, in San Diego, California, USA to Khalil Sr. and Diandra Rountree. He has a twin brother named Kameron.

Rountree grew up playing football before eventually beginning to train at MMA gyms after graduating from high school in 2010. After cutting his teeth on the local circuit for several years, he made his official professional debut in 2014 and quickly developed into one of the most promising fighters in his division following quick finishes over all eight of his opponents leading up to 2018 when he was signed by UFC after appearing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series where he earned a first-round knockout win over former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Maurício “Shogun” Rua in June 2018 which marked as one of the biggest upsets that year making it possible for him secure a contract with UFC .

Since signing with UFC , Rountree has racked up three wins out of six fights including notable wins against Ion Cutelaba via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 129 and Gokhan Saki at UFC 226 which won him Performance of The Night award as well as Fight Of The Night awards against Tyson Pedro both happened at same event – UFC 243. Although results didn’t go on Khalil’s way everytime but there is no doubt that each fight has been entertaining due fans love watching him perform because they know they will always get something memorable out it either win or lose because Khalil always puts everything out there whenever steps inside octagon showing that why is considered as Top 15 light-heavyweight fighter by rankings standings according their website .

Known professionally simply by ‘Karu’ – shorted name from combination between ‘Khalil’ and ‘Rouuntree’,the 29-year old athlete also known for being involved with various charities such as You Can Play Project whose main focus beyond sports are LGBTQ athletes having her rights respected throughout entire world; being a strong advocate about racial equality specially involving black community ;as well helping homeless kids across US through providing them food donations amongst other supplies since 2017 when co-founded organization called Streetboxx alongside some friends during those times . Outside sport and charity work ,Rounntee loves going snowboarding around mountains from Southern California during winter season or spending quality time with close friends enjoying beach life nearby Ocean Beach when gets chance .
