He stood out on March 4, 2021, striking freshman season-highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds in a game where they emerged victorious against TCU by a nine-point margin — 76-67. He averaged 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game during his freshman year and garnered praise, earning him the Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors.

Still growing and consistently improving, the following year, as a sophomore, he upped the ante by averaging 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. However, he decided to transfer to Baylor University following the season. Bridges continued his upward trend in performance as he averaged 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his junior year.

Bridges decided to dip his toes into professional basketball by declaring for the 2023 NBA draft, however he eventually chose to return to Baylor. In a display of persistent improvement, he averaged 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 blocks per game and was named to the Third Team All-Big 12.

In the 2024 NBA draft, Bridges wasn’t drafted but it didn’t deter his ambition or his path to professional basketball. Staying resolute and focused, he signed a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns on July 4, 2024. This enabled Bridges to showcase his performance on a prominent platform, while still allowing him to grow his skills within the NBA G League with the Valley Suns.
