Jusuf Nurkic

Jusuf Nurkic is a professional basketball player from Bosnia and Herzegovina who currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on August 23, 1994 in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He began his career playing with KK Zrinjski Mostar of the Bosnian League before being selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 16th overall pick in 2014 NBA Draft.

Nurkic has since blossomed into one of the top centers in the league. He stands at seven feet tall and weighs 280 pounds making him a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the court. His greatest strength is his proficiency as an interior scorer as he can score off post-ups, short jumpers, put backs off offensive rebounds and even lobs or dunks from guards that penetrate into paint. On defense he is dependable shot blocker averaging 1 block per game for his career while also having excellent rim protection due to his size which allows him to contest shots without fouling too often.

In 2015 Nurkic was traded to Denver Nuggets after two seasons with Chicago Bulls where he worked towards becoming more consistent especially offensively developing chemistry between himself and point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. After getting traded back home to Europe in 2017 Jusuf suffered one of his most difficult periods dealing with knee injuries that made comebacks more difficult each time but proved not impossible as Nurkic came back stronger than ever leading Nuggets to playoff appearances again during 2018-19 season averaging 15 points 8 rebounds 4 assists while shooting 50% from field goal range displaying a level of consistency we hadn’t seen before out of him .

Before 2020-21 season started Jusuf got traded again this time heading westbound joining Portland Trail Blazers where we saw him become even better offensively improving scoring efficiency shooting 54% FG numbers while contributing 17 points weekly along six boards four dimes plus two blocks per outing en route into playoffs yet again for Blazers team led by star guard Damian Lillard whose chemistry together has been nothing short then magical so far .

We all hope that 2021 will bring us many more positive news related to promising Bosnian center as seeing him perform night after night unselfishly doing all little things necessary for success brings joy not only among fans but whole basketball community alike
