Thiago Moises is a Brazilian mixed martial artist currently competing in the UFC’s lightweight division. Known for his aggressive style and strong ground game, Thiago has earned himself a reputation as one of the best lightweights in the world.
Born on February 13, 1990, in Curitiba, Brazil, Thiago began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 11 under master Ricardo Pele. After mastering this art form he moved to Las Vegas to continue his martial arts journey with MMA coaches such as Wander Braga and Rodrigo Medeiros who helped turn him into one of MMA’s brightest stars.
At only 18 years old he made his professional debut at HD Fighters 2 where he quickly submitted Marcos Paulo Oliveira Guimaraes by rear-naked choke submission after just two minutes of action earning himself ‘Submission Of The Night’ honors. Impressed with his performance Thiago was awarded a multi fight contract with WFC (World Fighting Championships) where he went undefeated until signing with RFA (Resurrection Fighting Alliance). At RFA 36 Thiago won the vacant belt against Justin Sumter via unanimous decision becoming featherweight champion before making a move up to lightweight for greater challenges.
In 2019 Thiago signed for UFC after being called up from Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil 4 even though not getting victory during that event due to disqualification against Ilia Topuria; However it was enough for him to make an impression on UFC president Dana White and be offered a spot in octagon roster officially becoming part of elite group UFC fighters worldwide.
