Beneil Dariush is an Iranian-American professional mixed martial artist and a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born in Tehran, Iran on November 17, 1988. Although he moved to the United States as a young child, he is still deeply connected to his Persian heritage and culture. His parents are both from Tehran, Iran and his brother fights professionally under the Bellator banner.

Dariush began training in martial arts at a young age. In high school he trained in wrestling, Muay Thai boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), and Judo before joining Kings MMA when he was 18 years old with coach Rafael Cordeiro. He quickly found success in BJJ by becoming one of the top competitors at Grapplers Quest tournaments throughout California before transitioning into MMA competition full time by 2010.

Dariush made his professional debut on January 7th 2011 for Tachi Palace Fights where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Jorge Lopez Jr., beginning what would become an impressive 14 fight win streak that included victories over UFC veterans Efrain Escudero and Daron Cruickshank among other accolades such as being crowned the TPF Lightweight Champion and winning four consecutive post-fight bonuses from various promotions including World Series of Fighting (WSOF) Global Championships LLC alongside multiple “Fight of The Night” awards for incredible showings against opponents such as Tony Ferguson during Dariush’s stint with Legacy FC/RFA prior to joining UFC ranks in 2014 after compiling 11 finishes out of his 12 total wins up until then .

After signing with UFC, Beneil has fought some great fighters like Jim Miller , Michael Johnson , Edson Barboza , Diego Ferreira , Drakkar Klose , Charles Oliveira etc making him one of the most exciting fighters inside Octagon . He has been awarded Fight Of The Night 5 times & Performance Of The Night 3 times making him one of most decorated fighter within 155lbs division . Not only that but also recently became number 4 ranked contender within lightweight division which makes him 1 win away from title shot .

Life outside Octagon for Beneil still revolves around martial arts & grappling compeitions such as ADCC & IBJJF No Gi Worlds which shows how much commitment & dedication this man possess towards sport . With focus set firmly on championship glory amongst chaos created by pandemic it will be interesting to see who comes out victorious come 2021 when hopefully things will go back to normal !
