BIOGRAPHY
Drew Dober is a professional mixed martial artist and the current UFC Lightweight contender. He has been competing in the sport since 2008 and currently holds a record of 24-9-1, with 16 victories coming by way of knockout or submission.
Dober’s career began at age 17 when he fought for King of the Cage, winning his debut fight via first round submission. He quickly moved up to Titan Fighting Championships where he won two fights before joining Bellator MMA in 2011. After compiling an impressive 4-2 record over two years with the promotion, Dober opted to move on to World Series of Fighting (now known as Professional Fighters League). Over his five year stint there, he compiled a 10-5 record while becoming one of their most successful fighters ever.
In 2016, Dober made his much anticipated jump to UFC after signing on a four fight contract with them that same year. His first bout was against Jason Gonzalez which ended in victory via unanimous decision but it was his next three fights that really pushed him forward into stardom: A win via TKO against Scott Holtzman followed by back-to-back wins over Frank Camacho and Josh Burkman respectively ending both those bouts within 2 minutes each! These spectacular performances earned him ‘Performance Of The Night’ honors from UFC and soon after ‘Fight Of The Night’ recognition for his war against Alexander Hernandez which he lost via split decision but still managed to make a statement due to its high intensity action throughout all three rounds!
Since then Drew has gone on to have some more impressive showings inside the octagon such as dominate victories over Nasrat Haqparast & Jon Tuck showcasing why he is one of the top contenders in Lightweight division today! This year alone Dober has already competed twice; First taking out Marco Polo Reyes via armbar submission within just 21 seconds earning himself another performance bonus from UFC followed by being part of Fight Island main event last month where he took out Alexander Hernandez once again this time getting through all 15 minutes successfully dominating majority if not entirety during their trilogy bout thereby further cementing himself as one of top lightweight contenders! Currently ranked #8 in Lightweight rankings Drew looks primed for some big matchups later this year as well – making him surely someone you should look out for if you are fanatics about great action packed fights inside Octagon!!
