BIOGRAPHY
Renato Carneiro Moicano is an elite mixed martial artist from Brazil. He currently competes in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Renato began his career as a professional fighter in 2009, and he has since compiled a 16-3-1 record. Throughout his career, he has faced off against some of the best fighters in the world and earned victories over notable names such as Cub Swanson, Jeremy Stephens, Mirsad Bektic and Calvin Kattar.
Moicano was born on October 20th 1988 in Brasilia, Brazil. He began training martial arts at age 13 after watching UFC 1 on TV with his father. Initially he trained Brazilian jiu jitsu but eventually developed an interest for MMA and decided to pursue it professionally. From 2011 to 2013 Renato competed exclusively for Jungle Fight promotion where he captured two championships before signing with UFC in 2014.
In 2016 Renato made his debut performance inside of the octagon at UFC 198 when he received a unanimous decision victory over Tom Niinimäki from Finland.
