BIOGRAPHY
Ricky Glenn is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the UFC’s Lightweight division. Born on October 6, 1989 in Los Angeles, California, Glenn was raised by his parents along with two brothers and a sister. Growing up he was always drawn to martial arts and combat sports. At the age of 15 he began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai at a local gym in L.A., before eventually transitioning into MMA fighting at 18 years old after graduating high school.
In 2010, Glenn made his professional MMA debut with King of the Cage (KOTC) promotion where he earned six consecutive wins to begin his career as well as four post-fight awards for “Fight of the Night”. He then went on to fight for Strikeforce from 2011- 2012 where he earned additional victories over Mike Bronzoulis, JZ Cavalcante, John Cholish and Derrick Burnsed amongst others while competing on Showtime cards against some of the top fighters in Strikeforce’s lightweight division. In addition to earning several “Submission of The Night” Awards during this time period, Ricky also became known for being one of only a few fighters able to submit former world champion Gilbert Melendez via rear naked choke at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Kennedy card held in July 2012 which many regard as one of Ricky’s most memorable performances throughout his career thus far.
Glenn then signed with UFC after they acquired Strikeforce’s assets mid-2012 making him the first fighter from that organization’s lightweight division ever invited into UFC . Once inside the octagon however things didn’t quite go as planned for Ricky who lost each of his first three fights under that banner over 2013 – 2014 including fights against Top 10 ranked contenders like Abel Trujillo & Edson Barboza both happening within 8 months between November 2013 – June 2014 ending an 11 fight winning streak dating back prior to joining UFC altogether . After these losses though Ricky has since rebounded nicely putting together 3 straight wins all occurring within 2015 most recently defeating Evan Dunham at UFC Fight Night 81 via unanimous decision which now brings him back into contention among some other top names looking ahead towards 2016 season .
For fans Rick offers exciting action packed fights coupled with excellent ground skills combined with strong striking ability making him one particularly unpredictable yet very entertaining fighter overall when it comes down seeing how matches will end up playing out inside octagon come fight night itself ! When not training or competing you can usually find him spending time outdoors either hiking exploring nature or engage various physical activities such biking kayaking skiing etc depending upon season …
